6 Commonly Undiagnosed Health Issues

Millions of Americans suffer from digestive, autoimmune disease and other health issues, and most can’t figure out why or even what they have.

A lot of these diseases are caused by eating a standard American diet filled with sugar, seed oils, and the toxic herbicide glyphosate. Other culprits are antibiotic overuse (sometimes even just 2 or 3 rounds) and/or overconsumption of alcohol, sugar/high fructose corn syrup, birth control pills, or NSAIDs like ibuprofen to manage inflammation instead of doing it through diet.

But not to worry, we’ve helped tens of thousands of customers deal with unexplained chronic issues for years. They felt lost on figuring out how to heal them, so we collected the 6 common health issues to help you figure out what’s going on in your body.

1. Adrenal Dysregulation

Adrenal glands are vital to your immune function, and they also help the thyroid to function properly. When the adrenal glands are tired and worn out, the body may experience a significant number and variety of symptoms.

Most Common Symptoms of Adrenal Dysregulation

  • Lower back pain
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Muscle twitches
  • Heart palpitations
  • Sensitivity to light and/or difficulty seeing at night
  • Craving for salt
  • Low stamina for stress and easily irritated
  • Light-headedness or dizzy upon standing up
  • Tired but wired feeling (can’t relax)
  • Poor sleep (still “thinking” while sleeping or restlessness)
  • Exhausted all day and then come alive with energy at night
  • Cravings for sweets/carbs
  • Intolerance to alcohol
  • Premature aging
  • Dry, unhealthy skin with excess pigmentation
  • Lack of libido

2. Candida Overgrowth

Candida albicans is an opportunistic organism and pathogenic yeast. We all have it in our bodies, and most of the time, it’s harmless. But when it overgrows, it causes major problems.

Candida will grow out of balance if your health or constitution has been weakened, typically by using antibiotics. Because non-organic meat contains antibiotics, many of us are consuming them on a regular basis.

Other contributing factors for candida overgrowth include excessive sugar consumption, pregnancy, use of birth control pills, excessive coffee or alcohol consumption, heavy metal toxicity, H. pylori infection, and chronic stress.

Most Common Symptoms of Candida:

  • Persistent constipation, bloating, or gas
  • Mental fog you simply can’t shake
  • Debilitating chronic fatigue/exhaustion
  • Intense sugar cravings
  • Chronic sinus infections
  • Excess mucous
  • Nail Fungus
  • Recurring vaginal yeast infections
  • Persistent food or environmental allergies
  • Depression and anxiety
  • White coating on the tongue

3. Graves’ Disease

Graves' disease is an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism) where the thyroid is basically attacking itself and working harder than it needs to. It is one of the most common thyroid issues usually affecting people between the ages of 30 and 50 and is more common in women.

Contributing factors to Graves’ disease can be genetic or environmental.

Most Common Symptoms of Graves’ Disease:

  • Insomnia
  • Digestive upset
  • Anxiety and irritability
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Heat Sensitivity (feeling hot all the time)
  • Increase in perspiration
  • Frequent bowel movements
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeat
  • Bulging eyes
  • Light sensitivity
  • Sleep issues

It is scary when your thyroid is attacking itself and causing insomnia, digestive upset, and all kinds of other issues, but it's also a very strong sign that a lifestyle change is needed to heal.

4. Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease that can cause your thyroid to not make enough thyroid hormone. It occurs when your body makes antibodies that attack the cells in your thyroid.

Most Common Symptoms of Hashimoto’s:

  • Weight gain
  • Dry skin or dry, thinning hair
  • Muscle weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Heavy or irregular menstrual periods
  • Fertility issues
  • Trouble tolerating cold
  • Joint & muscle pain

In order to restore your thyroid and get you feeling like you again, we must remove immunological burdens like chronic viruses, and other gut pathogens, support the liver, and fill in nutritional deficiencies that prevent its optimal function.

5. Leaky Gut Syndrome

An unhealthy gut lining of the small intestine may have microscopic holes in it allowing partially digested food, toxins, and bad pathogenic “bugs” to leak into your bloodstream causing a number of imbalances, brain, digestive, immune, liver, and hormone problems.

Most Common Symptoms of a Leaky Gut:

  • Insomnia
  • Bloating & gas
  • Brain fog
  • Food sensitivities
  • Hair loss and brittle nails
  • Autoimmune disorders like Hashimoto's, IBS, Lupus, and Fibromyalgia
  • Type 2 Diabetes and Insulin Resistance
  • Infertility
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Skin issues like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and acne
  • Heartburn and acid reflux
  • Weight Issues

6. SIBO

SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) can be defined simply as having a bacterial overgrowth of many different types of bacteria that belong in the large intestine (colon) in the small intestine. We have 10x the amount of bacteria in the colon than the small intestine and these “worlds of bacteria” should never mix because when bacteria are in the wrong place, this wreaks havoc on our health.

Most Common Symptoms of SIBO:

  • Bloating, bloating, and more bloating
  • Trouble digesting most carbohydrates (FODMAPS) and lots of other foods
  • Many food sensitivities (what can I eat??)
  • Brain fog – the brain has become disconnected from the gut via vagus nerve inactivation
  • The worst constipation ever no matter what you try
  • Depression and/or anxiety

SIBO significantly impacts our digestion of food and absorption of nutrients (because it damages the gut lining). The mission to eradicate SIBO can be complicated and requires a multi-pronged approach.

The good news is when you give the body what it needs and take away what it doesn’t, it will heal itself.
